CMBC Cemetery
Dear Friends:
Please be advised that the Cemetery Committee, after years of maneuvering machinery around headstones and collapsing graves, has decided to begin a preservation venture to improve the maintenance as well as the appearance of the Century Meadows Cemetery. The project will begin this spring with completion anticipated by fall 2012.
We will be setting all headstones on top of concrete foundations that will run parallel to the existing graves, thus providing a solid base for these precious memorials. This would be a good time for families, considering new headstones, to pursue this commemorative purchase. It is also important to note that all concrete grave covers will be removed, as they are the most cumbersome hazard for the graveyard maintenance crew and many have deteriorated beyond repair. We are trusting in your agreement to this decision.
We have gratefully received partial government funding for this project, but are looking for volunteers to help in this expansive and costly, but uniquely personal endeavor. All contributions to this project are tax deductable. We are expecting the cost for the project to be about $500.00 per plot. Please contact Enos Lamprecht (780.672.6924), Glenn Friesen (780.672.4637) or the church office (780.672.3230) with your willingness to be part of this labor of love in memory of our deceased family members.
Finally, please be advised that we have a comprehensive burial registry documenting grave sites as well as a photographic database. Furthermore, graves have been plotted and recorded via GPS coordinates, so grave sites will be easily identified, regardless of restorative landscaping.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
Glenn Friesen
